Winter and summer takes turn, and the years renew. Under the people¡¯s attention, the reform and opening of Chinese financial industry continuously write out new achievement, while in the reform tide young Bank of Beijing passed the first ten years and stepped into a new journey, we have the reason to believe that this coming year will be another year full of wish, hope and harvest.
In the past 2005, depending upon the well situation of the sustaining and rapid development of Beijing economy and the favorable development chance brought by renaming and attracting fund, Bank of Beijing hold to the guidance of scientific development view, actively speed up internal reform, system innovation and international development, so all the businesses have a continuous and fast growth. By the end of 2005, the total assets has reached RMB232.6b, balance of Renminbi and foreign currencies deposit was RMB217.2b, their balance of loan was RMB120b, which were 11times, 12 times and 24times respectively more than those in the beginning of the bank. In 2005 year¡¯s end, the non-performing asset accounted for 4.22%, capital adequacy was 10.83%, core capital adequacy 6.44%, which achieved the level of domestic excellent banks. Among the latest list of 1000 global banks publicized by Britain magazine of ¡°The Bankers¡±, Bank of Beijing ranks 284th and 431th respectively according to assets and tier 1 capital standard, succeeded in stepping into the line of global top 500 commercial banks. It is impossible for us to win these achievements without the care and support of Beijing Municipal Committee and Beijing Municipal Government, the guide and help of supervisory department and the trust and cooperation of various social circles. 2006 is the first year for Bank of Beijing implementing ¡°The third Five-Year Plan¡±, also the key year for Bank of Beijing accelerating strategy transformation and promoting regional and capitalization strategy. In the new year for the purpose of completing all kinds of tasks designed by the board of directors in the earlier of the year, we will target the elevation of the core competition, insist on the balance development among the businesses of assets and liabilities, corporation and individual and traditional and new ones, accelerate structural adjustment and independent innovation of the service product, strive for walking out of region and prepare for public offering, eventually make a good start for persistent, stable and harmonious development during the period of ¡°The Third Five-Year Plan¡±. The specific measures include: First, emphasize structure optimization, transform the mode of operation growth; second, take advantage of the mixture of Chinese and foreign capital, advance the international and integrated level of operation and management; Third, segment customer as the means of expanding retail banking and intermediate business; fourth, target the elevation of service, create functional bank; fifth, focus on group construction, increase the enforcement of the whole bank; sixth, perfect internal control as guaranty, realize sustainable and coordinative development.
Standing at the new historical beginning, we are full of pride and enthusiasm, but with heavy responsibility. The solid foundation of 10 years of development has built an extensive stage for us, and the favorable prospect for constructing a service-leading and international-based bank encouraged us to advance continuously. In the process of new year¡¯s reform and development, we will continue the development theme, carrying forward struggle spirit, holding innovation soul, keeping aggressive enterprising, working hard, advancing with time and exerting ourselves, and actively promote all businesses to climb up to another new step and compose a new development chapter for Bank of Beijing.
